Dumpster diving is one of the ways to get free food. Supermarkets in the USA throw away a lot of products. Sometimes they are not even over the date. As soon as they get a new shipment of products the old one goes into the dumpster. “We eat like kings here in Detroit” to quote the “Coconut”, a room mate of Tommy Spaghetti.
The night before Halloween is called the Devil’s night. It was common to see a lot of fires on that night. People would burn the vacant houses. It seems like this is a thing of the past now. There were no fires that night.
